At last week's CMA Music Fest in Nashville, it was a whirlwind of concerts, interviews and autograph signings for legendary country band, Shenandoah. The group kicked off their extensive week by walking the pink carpet at the CMT Music Awards, shuffling through dozens of interviews. Attending the CMT Awards was a first for the band. "Such an honor to meet Mike and Marty from Shenandoah and have them attend their FIRST CMT Awards!” says CMT’s Leslie Fram. Shenandoah’s Mike McGuire notes, "We’ve been in this business for 30 years and this was actually the first time Shenandoah had a chance to attend the CMT Awards. What CMT has put together is truly spectacular and we were glad we could be part of it this year." Shenandoah performed on the AT&T Skyview Stage at Ascend Amphitheater and the Durango Music Spot Stage at Fan Fair X and signed hundreds of autographs during a session at the official CMA Booth. "It was great to have the guys back out performing at CMA Fest this year," said Morris President, David Haskell. "Not only was it nice to reconnect with old friends, but it was also nice to hear them play. They sounded better than ever." Last week, Rolling Stone Country named Shenandoah as one of the "Top 30 Acts to See at CMA Music Fest." "After an 18-year absence from CMA Fest, the degree of excitement and acceptance we received was truly overwhelming," says Shenandoah lead singer Marty Raybon. "We felt so much love from the loyal and faithful country music fans. The cheers were unforgettable!" Last month the band made their return to the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time in nearly 25 years. The group will again return to the Opry stage on Friday, June 24.
